People tend to think that you have to have really severe problems to need counseling. This is the exception, not the rule. Most people who see a therapist are benefiting from a process of expressing, and exploring their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, that translates to very tangible improvements in their lives.
To get the most out of your counseling experience, it's important that you find a professional whose approach feels right to you. People are different--including counselors--and a good counselor for one person may not be a good counselor for another. The only real way to know whether you'd be comfortable with a certian counselor is to meet with them. You can begin to assess our compatibility with your needs by understanding a little about our approach. Here are significant elements of our approach:
Warm, Non-Judgmental, Respectful, Insightful,
Genuine, Gentle, Empathic, Solution-Oriented,
Open-Minded, and Caring
There is no one set way for everyone. Each person is different. We attempt to understand and accept each person's individual personality, and assist them accordingly.
Our Counseling Clients
Adults, young adults, adolescents and children.
Adults with “mid-life” challenges regardless of specific age.
Individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles seeking therapy.
Appointment Times
Appointments are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm and during some evening hours.
Length of Therapy
One of the things we discuss when we meet is a timeframe that is appropriate for your needs.
Depending on your needs, therapy can last for several weeks or several months. Brief therapy (lasting a few weeks) or long-term (therapy lasting 12 months or more) are two examples.
You may want to meet more than once a week until you feel better or your situation is more controlled. I will work with you to make time for frequent sessions.
You are welcome to return after initial therapy is complete.

My theory background and training are in depth theories, especially Rational-Emotive therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Insight oriented approaches and Play therapies. I attend ongoing training and study to remain current and to maintain all my licensures and certifications.
