PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL TESTING is BCT's most comprehensive service and involves one-on-one, individualized assessment at our offices in Tulsa. This service is available for students from four years of age through college age. Depending on the individual concerns and needs of the client, our staff members administer tests of intelligence, achievement, personality, cognitive processing, and/or social and emotional development. These tests can be used to identify/diagnose:

cognitive strengths and weaknesses

specific learning disabilities

Asperger's Syndrome and other PDD

attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

social-emotional issues/concerns

The Psycho-educational Evaluation itself typically takes one to two days. Fees for Psycho-educational Evaluations depend on the complexity of the assessment battery, but typically range between $350 and $800. This fee includes all testing, clinical history, review of prior records, a detailed written report with recommendations, and a consultation session to discuss and interpret findings.

Sometimes, students have already had a comprehensive evaluation, and parents want a “second opinion” or have further questions about the test results. In this case, a parent may choose an Educational Consultation/School Psychologist, which can:

Answer questions about test results: the results of previous testing are interpreted, and assistance is provided in evaluating the educational implications of test findings.

Help develop educational plans: students’ performance on standardized tests, achievement in school, and interests and motivation, as well as available resources in the community, are evaluated to develop educational plans that meet their needs.

Assist with school advocacy: guidance is provided to families seeking to work with their child’s school in developing and implementing an appropriate educational program.

All Educational Consultations include a review of records and a one-hour informational session, and cost between $175 and $350, depending on the complexity of the case. A written report is available for an additional fee.

Psycho-Educational Testing (K – 12 & College)
The psycho-educational evaluation process is a comprehensive assessment of a child’s health and developmental history, cognitive processes (intellectual ability levels), as well as visual and auditory processing, attention, memory, achievement (reading, written expression, mathematics), and social/emotional well-being. This assessment in its entirety gives a full picture of the child, how their brain operates, how they are interacting in their environment, whether patterns exist across all domains that are consistent with ADHD, if there is a learning disability, and whether co-existing social and/or emotional conditions exist. This information is necessary to make qualified recommendations as to interventions that can be incorporated into a child’s home and school life that will assist the child in their learning and in their social/emotional wellbeing.
