What large,shade-loving,purple-flower sprouting plant is this?

I see this plant commonly here in northeast Florida. It’s leaves are long and pointy like an Oleander tree’s. The flowers bud in elongated buds like a bug’s antennaes and when they bloom,which is frequently, they are purple with five round petals. The entire plant isn’t cramped together, it’s very spacey and long, if that makes any sense.
I love this plant, which has taken over the entire back wall of my house, but I can’t figure out at all what it is. Any suggestions?

I think it’s a type of Ruellia. All your criteria fit–the leaves are pointy, the buds do look like a bug’s antennae and the flowers are purple (although they also come in pink and white) with five petals. Plus, saying that they have taken over your space makes me feel that this is the correct answer. Ruellias grow like weeds and if you aren’t careful, you will have them growing all over the place!
